A-15-year old Senior secondary school 3 (SS3) student of the Brainfield group of schools, Imran Ogungbayi has emerged winner of a quiz competition in Lagos.
Ogungbayi pulled an aggregate score of 348 marks comprising 98% in Mathematics, 95% in Physics, 89% in Chemistry, and 66% in English Language to emerge winner of the quiz competition organised by the Nigeria Institute of Physics Conference Quiz Competition held at the Lagos state university of science and technology.
The competition which was keenly contested by different schools across the state saw the young chap clinching the top prize with applause from the audience.
Master Ogungbayi when contacted said he was able to come first through a dint of hard work and regular practice of the subjects for the competition.
He also disclosed that his focus on being the first pushed him to study harder for the state-wide competition.
Master Ogungbayi had as a result of his hard work and eyes on the goal had equally made all his West African Examination Council (WAEC’s) general certificate examination (GCE) when he was in senior secondary school 2 (SS2).
He made A1 in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, Technical Drawing, and Biology, while B2 in Physics and Chemistry, B3 in Civic education, and C5 in English Language.
Ogungbayi when contacted about his future ambition, said he wants to study Elect/Electrical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University Ife as well as having the dream of studying abroad, at the great Harvard University.
He said; “I am delighted for coming first in this competition, it is a motivation for me to do more in my academic performance. I will also work hard to ensure that the tempo is maintained.
“I have made my o’level result when i did my GCE when I was in SS2 and I am happy for the feat. I am looking forward to studying elect/electrical engineering at the university.”
Commending the effort of Master Ogungbayi, Baale Kehinde Hassan Akerele eulogized the boy and the role of the school in the life of the young chap and congratulate the Director of the School for a job well done.
“Brainfield he said; “is a household name in Ashiwaju Dada land today because the school is known for excellent performance in all fields of life.”
“I want international donors to come and add value to Brainfield so that the school can make more impact in the life of our future leaders.”
An elated father of the boy Prince Ganiyu Adeola Ogungbayi said he is happy for the feat his son has achieved praying God make him achieve his future dream career.
He said; “my son’s attitude is excellence in every aspect of his academic activities, competitions, and social activities, I hope he will remain like that throughout his academic sojourn.”
