The heaven opened up on Wednesday,11th January, 2023, at Ojo Town Hall, in Ojo Local Government area of Lagos State to receive prayers offered by the League Of Imams, from Badagry Division for the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the party’s three Senatorial Candidates and other APC candidates from Badagry Division, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
The islamic clerics were assembled to offer the special prayers towards ensuring the success of all the APC candidates in the 2023 general election, by the Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Council Development Area, Hon Ramotalai Akinlola-Hassan.
In her opening remark just before the commencement of the special prayers session, Hon Akinlola-Hassan stated that she deemed it necessary to organise the special prayer for all the APC candidates, and more importantly, for Tinubu because she is a major beneficiary of his charitable lifestyle and achievements as a democract.
She added that, offering prayers for Tinubu to enable him become the next president of Nigeria, after president Mohammed Buhari, is her own special contribution towards realisation of the ambition and a way of reciprocating his (Tinubu’s) contribution to her success as a politician.
Hon Akinlola-Hassan appealed to all eligible voters in Lagos State who have not collected their permanent voters card to do so before the deadline given by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) elapsed, adding that the voters card is the only instrument they can use to ensure electoral victory for Tinubu, Gov Sanwo-Olu, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule as Senator for Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Adetokunbo Abiru, as Senator for Lagos East Senatorial District, Hon Wasiu Eshinlokun, as Senator, Lagos Central Senatorial District and other APC candidates vying for seats in the Lagos State House Of Assembly, across the twenty local governments of the state.
The special prayer session was led by the Chairman, League Of Imams, Badagry Division, Sheik Abdul Hakeem Uwais.
During the prayers, there was recitation of the Quran for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates in Lagos State and Nigeria, while prayers were offered by the clerics for the success of Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates during the election and for the 2023 election to be peaceful nationwide.
The spiritual ceremony was attended by Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Engr Valentine Buraimoh, Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon Onilude Olusegun, former member, Lagos State House Of Assembly, representing Amuwo-Odofin Constituency 1, Hon Akeem Bello, APC candidate, for House Of Representative, Amuwo-Odofin Federal Constituency, Prince Lanre Sanusi and APC candidate, Lagos State House Of Assembly, Ojo Constituency 1, Olusegun Ege.
Others in attendance were, APC apex leader, Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Alhaja Memunat Ajao, APC leader in Oriade LCDA, Mr Ajakaiye Isiak, Leader of Oriade LCDA Legislative Arm, Hon Jamiu Jimoh Shittu, Secretary to Oriade LCDA, Alhaji Rasak Olojede, Supervisors in the council area, Iyaloja General of Oriade LCDA, Alhaja Tawakalitu Muse Balogun, the council manager, Prince Akitoye Semiu and the Director of Human Resources Department, Mr Onadipe Adekunle Mojeed.
