Oshodi-Isolo local government chairman, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has congratulated the senior team of the country, the Super Eagles on qualifying for the final stage of the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023).
The council boss described the qualification as well deserved giving the players sterling performance against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa.
Oloyede in a congratulatory message to the National football team and the entire Nigerians eulogised the players and charge them to go for the trophy.
The match ended up 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes regulation time.
The Super Eagles at the end of the penalties shoot out after they played draw in the extra time of the match came victorious on a penalties shoot out.
The Super Eagles came victorious with 4-2 on penalties.
The council boss commended the players, coaching staff, and the entire Nigerian football lovers for their dedication and hard work.
He said; “It is with heartfelt joy that I congratulate the Super Eagles of Nigeria and Nigerians for braving the trail to for qualifying for the final stage of the AFCON, I also congratulate Nigerians o this well fought and deserving victory.”
“As we celebrate our national team, we charge them to go for the trophy and bring it home at the finals on Sunday. Congratulations once again Super Eagles, congratulations Nigerians.”
