Life, for many, is to be lived and enjoyed irrespective of how. To some, it is only a sojourn of frivolities while others see it as the only abode of man. Doing good or encouraging such is not a virtue; it is not part of their thinking of what life is. To them, it is a case of I care less about what happens to others. It is only the exceptional, phenomenal persons and people of high value that value and see the importance in life. Such see life as an abode to doing good and helping others to attain the highest stage of success they have imagined in their lives. Of these few, is the former Principal of Government Girls’ College, Agege, Lagos, and the Proprietress of Rahmah Private School and Rahmah College, Alhaja Rahmatallah Olatundun Ogunmuyiwa.
She is also an elder for the National Association of Private Proprietors of Schools (NAPPS), Agege Chapter.
Alhaja Ogunmuyiwa is an educationist par excellence. A graduate of University of Lagos, Akoka with first-class honours. She has had many academic laurels in her portfolio. She won the best principal of the year awards on three different occasions. She retired as a principal in the Lagos state ministry of education at the end of her glorious service. She is a teacher of teachers and a mentor of mentors. Alhaja Ogunmuyiwa has influenced and mentored many youths to stardom.
In doing this, Alhaja Ogunmuyiwa annually support students in higher institutions and sponsors physically handicapped students for further education.
Aside from being in academia, she is a builder of a virtuous and prosperous society. A community and religious leader of high repute she is. No wonder she is the Oloro Adinni of Nawair-Ud-Deen Society, Lagos. She is also a former Ameerah of the Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria (FOMWAN), Lagos state chapter.
Alhaja Ogunmuyiwa has also played and still playing vital roles in her community. She is the Patron of Ewutuntun Community Development Association (CDA), an association that oversees development of its immediate community.
In her characteristic manner, the humble retired principal recently donated cash and snacks to the Halal children’s home in Lagos when she clocked 80.
A quiet and humble woman she is, she recently quietly donated to the orphanage home without the eyes of the camera flashing its lights.
Testominlas abound on how she has mentored and impacted many to stardom. One of such is one of her biological sons, Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa who is now a Director at the Lagos State Office of Education Quality Assurance, Ministry of Education.
