The Executive Chairman of Apapa Local Government, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo has called for the embracement of the spirit of unity, compassion and generosity that defines Eid-el-fitr.
Senbanjo in a message by the Public Affairs Unit of the council, urged Muslim faithfuls to celebrate in moderation and that they should not throw away the gains they have made during the Ramadan month.
She said, ” Specifically, to our Muslim brothers and sisters, having observed the Ramadan month with sanctity, offering of prayers and supplications, let us not throw away the gains we have made as individuals spiritually, financially, health wise and altitudinal change, let’s continue in that vein for a better us”.
She continued, “As we celebrate, let us do it in moderation, observe security protocols, be security conscious, do not take laws into your hands and report deviants to the appropriate security quarters.”
Senbanjo assured residents of her commitment to continue serving them with dedication and integrity making their well-being and prosperity the top priorities of her administration and that she will continue to put in place programmes that will cushion the effects of the harsh economy on the populace.
She however urged them to disposed their waste appropriately for a healthier environment as they merry while she congratulates all Muslim faithfuls for the success of the Ramadan.
