… Calls for world peace, end to wars

Following calls by US President Donald Trump to take over the Gaza Stripes, an international Islamic organization, Ahmadiyah Muslim Jam’at, has said such a call is heinous to the independence of the Palestinians and would mean denial of their rights.
This move, the Jam’at said, is liking to the violation of their fundamental right to exist as a nation.
Speaking at a world press conference on Wednesday, the Managing Director of Muslim Television Ahmadiyya (MTA) International, Sir Munir-ud-din Shams, said no nation take over another and peace must reign in all parts of the world.
“Gaza has rights to its existence; it should not be taken over by any nation. The US should have provided better alternative and leadership than the idea of taking over the strip,” he said.
Shams, who was on a visit to Nigeria, toured the country’s national headquarters facilities in the Ojokoro area of Lagos, the venue of the location of its headquarters; all people must be granted equal rights, fairness, and justice at all times.
He slammed the lopsidedness in the United Nations where some countries are considered more powerful than the other.
Shams said: “Today we find that there is division and separation between powerful and weaker nations. For example, in the United Nations, we find that there is a distinction made between certain countries. Thus, in the Security Council, there are some permanent members and some non-permanent members. This division has proved to be an internal source of anxiety and frustration, and thus, we regularly hear reports of certain countries protesting against this inequality. Islam teaches absolute justice and equality in all matters and so we find another very crucial guideline in Chapter 5, Verse 3 of the Holy Qur’an.
“Powerful and rich countries should not usurp the rights of the poor and weaker countries in an effort to preserve their own rights, and nor should they deal with the poorer nations in an unjust fashion. On the other hand, the poor and weaker nations should not seek to inflict harm on the powerful or wealthy nations whenever the opportunity arises. Instead, both sides should endeavour to fully abide by the principles of justice. Indeed, this is a matter of crucial importance in maintaining peaceful relations between countries,” he stated.
As part of the press conference, a new book published on the need for the world to toe the path of peace was presented to the public.
While introducing the newly launched book titled: “World Crisis and the Pathway to Peace”, Shams said the worldwide Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jam’at, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Khalifatul Masih, assessed the current state of the world which he described as a turbulent time where the global economic crisis continues to rear its ugly ear bringing about newer and graver dangers; saying if not decisive action is not taken to curb the thread, it could degenerate into a horrific third world war.
“The third world war has already started giving the trends of things around the globe, look at Russia, Ukraine, Palestine, and Isreal we can deduce that these are dangerous trends signaling the beginning of the third war, this must be prevented at all cost, that is why we at the Ahmadiyah Jam’at we organise peace conferences across the world, we have started the Peace Prize where we focus on people, countries and organisations promoting peaceful coexistence. We are working hard to promote love and peace across the world,” he said.
