Hundreds Benefit at Kendoo’s Mega Empowerment 2.0

… Gifts residents new year food packages, chickens, goats, Guinea fouls

The Mega Empowerment Programme, tagged ‘Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Mega Empowerment 2.0’, is a landmark initiative aimed at promoting economic self-reliance and improving the socio-economic well-being of residents across the local government.

Speaking at the programme on Wednesday, Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof described the event as a deliberate effort to translate the Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible benefits at the grassroots.

The council chairman emphasized that his administration places premium value on empowering residents with productive tools rather than short-term relief. He noted that the distributed items, including deep freezers, make-up kits, popcorn machines, vulcanising machines, cooking gas cylinders, generators, sewing machines, grinding machines, POS machines, food shelves, and customised stands, were carefully selected to support artisans, traders, small business owners, youths, and women in building sustainable means of livelihood.

The Chairman recalled that on December 12, his administration had earlier empowered 1,100 beneficiaries, distributing 100 units each of the various empowerment items in the first phase of the programme. He stated that the positive feedback and visible impact of the first edition informed the decision to scale up the initiative with a second phase, further reaffirming his commitment to inclusive governance, poverty reduction, and grassroots economic development.

Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof also acknowledged the partnership with renowned social media influencer, Mrs Titilayo Orojimi, popularly known as Iya Ogba, whose collaboration contributed to the success and wider reach of the programme. He assured residents that empowerment initiatives will remain a continuous feature of his administration, as the council remains steadfast in its resolve to uplift lives, stimulate local enterprise, and deliver purposeful governance to the people of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government.

Alongside the empowerment items, the council chairman equally shared bags of 50kg, 25kg, 10kg and 5kg bags of rice to residents with goats and chickens as well as guinea fouls. He equally assured that his team will be out tomorrow morning to share 1000 units of 5kg rice directly to residents in order to make them have a joyous new year celebration.

The council boss wish residents a prosperous new year in advance.
