IGP Orders Probe Into Assault on Woman Police Officer in Osun

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, CP Olaleye Faleye, to investigate the alleged assault on woman Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele by her DCO in Ode Omu Osun State.

Inspector Bamidele had in a viral video alleged her DCO Ajayi Mathew for refusing his sexual advances to her.

The police officer in the video said she was beaten and naked by the said Ajayi for refusing his sexual moves.

She also alleged that the DCO has resulted in blackmailing her on social media and other medium.

However, waging into the crisis, the IGP through the office of the force’s public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi ordered the Osun state Commissioner of police to carry out a thorough investigation into the allegation.

He said: “The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, has directed the Commissioner of Police, Osun State, CP Olaleye Faleye, to investigate the alleged assault on woman Inspector Olorunsogo Bamidele by her DCO in Ode Omu Osun State.

“We will await the report of the investigation from Osun State Police Command before necessary actions are taken. However, we assure the general public that justice will be done in the case, to protect the core values and ethics of the NPF.”
