… Winners Emerge in debate competition
The Inner Wheel District 912 Nigeria has tasked the government at all levels to give priority to the training and protection of the girl child in the country.
This charge was made by the District Chairman of The Inner Wheel District 912, Olushola Asipa, during the 2022 International Day of Girl-Child organised by Inner Wheel District 912, for schools at Isolo Community Hall, Isolo Lagos.
She said: “We are using this opportunity to call on the government to be organising symposiums with a view to eradicating factors that cause girl-child to be looked down on and as well eradicate rape.
“The government should do it in such a way that girl-child would be saved from every form of harassment.”
The district as a way of celebrating the girl child held a debate competition for secondary school girls within the Isolo and Mushin axis of Lagos state.
The keenly debated competition was won by Aderogba Adenike of Isolo senior secondary school, while the second position was won by Isolo comprehensive senior high school, Oyeniyi Boluwatife and Imoh Chidera of Matori Grammar School came third in the competition.
The Chairman of International Day of Girl-Child 2022, IWM, Kike Babalola, said the programme would go a long way to improve the lives of the students.
The district as a way of appreciating its sponsors of the programme gave awards champions awards to Prof. Wasiu Babalola; Ashipa; Dr Atilade Femi Oshoniyi; Hajia Abimnola Oseni; Mr Kunle Adeniyi; Rotary District Governor, Omotunde Lawson; Mr Adigun Taiwo Adekunle; Dr Temitope Ashipa; Mr Wasiu Ola Abiola; Mr Kunle Adeniyi; Prof Godwin Oyedokun and Rotn Tejumola Taiwo.
