Lagata UK Foundation powers Ejigbo police station

Worried by the persistent blackout at its community security post at night, a non governmental organisation, Team Lagata UK Foundation has donated a solar powered electric security lights to the Ejigbo police station.

The solar power poles which were erected within and outside the police station will help on illuminating the sorrounding which were hitherto in darkness at night.

Speaking at the commissioning and handing over ceremony, Chief Executive Officer of the Team Lagata UK Foundation, Mr Idowu Adebanwo said the foundation was touched by the perennial darkness of the security agent meant to secure lives and property of the people within the community.

Adebanwo popularly called Lagata said his foundation deemed it feat to give back to the society that made them through the donation of the solar power light to the station.

According to him, the donation is part of his organisation’s efforts to promote peaceful and secured society that guarantees freedom for the teeming youths and residents at large.

He said: “My team and I decided to contribute our quota to.the development of Ejigbo and Lagos state by complementing the efforts of the governments within our communities.

It is on this note of ensuring better atmosphere and conduciveness of a working environment in our communities that the Team Lagata UK Foundation constructed a solar light system to light up Ejigbo police station.”

Receiving the team, the Divisional Police Officer of the Ejigbo Police Station, CSP Maryam Shonubi welcomed them with conviviality as she was joined with other officers of the division for the commissioning.

CSP Shonubi commended the team for their well thought idea and kind gesture towards the police. She assures them of a more robust and coordinated policing of the community while professionalism will be deployed in their operations.

She said; “We appreciate your kind gesture for this solar power light you donated to this station, we will continue to ensure adequate security is provided for the residents as we will always deploy professionalism in the discharge of our duties.”
