As the first term tenure of Lagos Council Chairmen comes to an end officially on Sunday, the Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, has dissolved his cabinet and all other political appointees as well as committees serving in the council area.
According to the council chairman, in a release issued by his media office on Saturday, the dissolution takes immediate effect.
Positions affected include: the Secretary to the Local Government, Chief of Staff to the chairman, all Supervisors, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, and Personal Assistants.
Also affected are members of the Revenue Committee, as well as other ad-hoc committees constituted during his first four-year tenure.
The chairman said the move is part of standard governance protocols as his first term in office comes to an end.
Otunba Almaroof-Oloyede expressed gratitude to all appointees for their commitment and contributions over the past four years to the development of.tue council area, noting that without their service and contributions, the recorded achievements would not have been possible.
He said; “As our first term is coming to an end, I sincerely appreciate everyone that has made it remarkable and successful. Without your inputs and collective efforts, our achievements would not have been possible.”
“Working together with you for the development of our dear local government has been an honour and deeply appreciated.”
He urged all former appointees to remain ambassadors of peace, unity, and good governance in their respective communities, as he urged them to maintain the same level of support as the second term commences, promising that the second term will witness even greater development and dividends of democracy in the local government.
