The Lagos state government has issued a statewide circular ordering school principals and administrators to comply with the supreme court judgement allowing female students in public and private schools the use of hijab to ensure strict compliance with the judgement.
The circular signed by the state’s head of civil service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola directed that all concerned authorities in the education sector in the state must abide by the Supreme court judgement and allow all female students who desire to use the hijab the right to do so.
“…however you are to note that judgement is binding on all schools in the State.”
