In commemorating this year’s World Youth Skills (WYS) day, the Lagos State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has trained about a thousand youths across the state on different skills.
The World Youths Skills Day is celebrated every July 15.
The chairman of the state chapter, Ibrahim Adigun who toured the various centres across the three senatorial districts- Lagos East, Lagos Central and Lagos West that made up of the state, expressed joy over the initiative which affords the council the opportunity to train the youths at the maiden edition of the state in celebrating WYS day.
This skills acquisition training is coming up in less than 30 days of his assumption of office as state chairman.

Youths who were trained on various skills such as tye and dye, catering, shoe making, soap making and coding among others expressed appreciation to Adigun for organising the one day training programme for them.

Adigun while visiting the centres promised the trainees a continued training for the summer as it approaches. He assured them that his administration with focus on ensuring professionalism, productivity and publicity will embark on massive skills acquisition training for more youths across the state.
He said his administration mantra is to ensure self sufficient among the youths through different trainings and given them entrepreneurship opportunities.

The youth body helmsman said he will work with all stakeholders to ensure Lagos youths are gainfully engaged for self development and economic sustainability.
