The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government and winner of the Saturday, July 12, election, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof-Oloyede, has received the certificate of return from the chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Bola Okikiolu-Ighile, certifying him as the winner of the election for another term in office.
The council chairman, in company with his amiable wife, Mrs. Fadekemi, dressed in a complete native white agbada, received the certificate at exactly 1pm on Wednesday to the admiration of his supporters and the state officers, especially the party chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, who also posed in a picture with the council chairman.
Otunba Almaroof-Oloyede, after the collection of the certificate in a brief media chat, promised to continue the good job he started in his first term and assured that he will surpass his first term performance, stating that “Oshodi-Isolo must be greater in my tenure and I will not relent, until I see Oshodi of my dream, where the narrative will be positive.”
Otunba Oloyede commended the party leadership at the state level for upholding the decision of delegates from the council area who voted for him overwhelmingly at the primary election, and promised he won’t let them down as he will ensure the programme and projects of the party are executed.
The council boss dedicated the victory on Saturday to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unflinching support and constant assistance in his political journey, stressing that he will not betray the confidence reposed in him.
In his words, “the victory on Saturday was a referendum on our four-year administration and I want to assure our people that we will continue in those strides. I thank the party for upholding the decision of our delegates at the primary election, who gave me the maximum support. I won’t let you down.”
“To my daddy and leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I am grateful for your support always and your assistance in my political trajectory. I will remain steadfast and committed to you.”
Finally, to the people who voted for us, this is the beginning of the continuation of good governance, I will not fail you. I appreciate your support before, during, and after the election.”
