In an effort to help reduce traffic congestion resulting from flooded drainage along the Ojota axis of Lagos state, operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) embarked on self help to free traffic by dislodging flood rain water into open drainages on main carriage way, Odo Iya-Alaro Bridge inward Ojota.
The LASTMA official Lateef Kabir who resulted to this initiative said he did it after noticing heavy traffic gridlocks on top of Odo Iya-Alaro Bridge inward Ojota on Sunday after the heavy downpour across the state.
Kabir was commended by both private and commercial bus drivers for this wonderful and lofty idea.
The General Manager of LASTMA Mr Bolaji Oreagba however called on members of the public particularly motoring public to always comply with directives of traffic officers and adhere to the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, urged members of the public to reach out to the LASTMA in case of any emergency or traffic congestion in any part of the state.
