Man Needs N7million for mitral valve replacement surgery, to stay alive

Life has not been the same for a -32- year man, Yusuf Luqman, after he was diagnosed of anterior mitral valve prolapse (a superior vena cava) by cardiologist at Lagos state university teaching hospital some months back.

In a report signed by Prof Adebowale Adekoya of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where he is been managed, showed that Luqman needs an immediate clinical surgery to correct the defect for him to live a normal and healthy life again.

To make this possible, the doctors said the sum of 7 million naira is needed.

Luqman, an HND holder from Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Osum, has been wreaking in pains, running from pillar to pole to raise funds for the correction of his mitral valve prolapse.

When he narrated his ordeal, Luqman said he had surgery for congenital heart disease at Garki Hospital Abuja in 2014. He said follow up after his original surgery now reveals that one of the valves in his heart (the mitral valve) is now leaking severely hence the need for urgent surgical operation to keep his heart from further deteriorating and to keep him alive.

His family members have been devastated with the health condition of their son however they have not been able to raise the funds. They are now seeking support of well-meaning Nigerians to come to their rescue to save the life of their son.
