MSSN mourns Late AbdurRahman Lekki, Former Executive Secretary, Lagos State Scholarship Board

In a condolence message signed by the Amir (President), MSSNLagos, Kamoldeen Abiona stated that the members of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN), Lagos State Area Unit, extend their deepest condolences to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Board Members, and the staff of the Lagos State Scholarship Board on the passing of Brother AbdurRahman Lekki.

Abiona noted that the news has left the Muslim students in profound sorrow, adding that Bro. AbdurRahman’s legacy of dedication, marked by his unyielding service to Islam, the state, and student development, will remain a beacon of inspiration.

“Throughout his career, he exemplified commitment to both public service and the empowerment of the Muslim community, leaving an enduring impact on all who worked with him,” he said.

According to Abiona, AbdurRahman’s role as Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Scholarship Board was characterised by visionary leadership and a steadfast commitment to promoting educational advancement and opportunities for youth in Lagos.

He said, “Mr Lekki’s exemplary career spanned public, private, and multilateral organisations. His work in public service reforms, management consulting, and development initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa brought transformation wherever he went, earning him multiple Lagos State Public Service awards.

“To us all at MSSN, he’s a brother, leader, mentor, teacher and trainer. He’ll always be remembered.

“As we mourn the loss of a dedicated servant and leader, we pray that Allah grants his soul mercy, forgiveness, and eternal rest in Jannah al-Firdaus. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues, and the entire Muslim community during this difficult time.”
