The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Ogun State chapter has commended the Senator representing Ogun West at the senate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who is popularly known as Yayi, for sponsoring 100 Muslims for the 2025 Hajj pilgrimage.
MURIC, in a statement signed by the chapter’s Chairman, Alhaji Tajudeen Jimoh Alao, and made public by the Secretary, Alhaji Olaleye Rasheed Damilare, the group described the gesture as an act of leadership which is rare service, and religious tolerance.
“This commendable act is not only generous in material terms but is also spiritually profound,” the statement read. “At a time when many Nigerians are facing economic hardship, this initiative has restored hope and joy to 100 Muslim families across the state and beyond.”
The group referenced a hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), saying: “Whoever helps his brother in need, Allah will definitely be there in his own time of need” (Sahih Muslim 2699).
MURIC said the sponsorship is a significant spiritual investment that will not go unnoticed by Allah, he also added that Hajj is a sacred obligation and the fifth pillar of Islam.
While acknowledging Senator Yayi’s previous contributions to education, healthcare, and youth empowerment, the group emphasized that this particular sponsorship “stands out as a divine act—one that only those with deep spiritual insight and selfless compassion can undertake.”
The Muslim rights group offered prayers for the senator, asking Allah to accept the gesture as a sadaqah (continuous charity), bless him with long life, and grant him success in both worlds.
The statement also urged other Muslim public office holders and philanthropists to emulate Senator Yayi’s example, describing leadership as “not just about political power but about touching lives and elevating souls.”
The group concluded that senator Yayi, may your reward be as vast as the plains of ‘Arafah and as radiant as the white garments of the pilgrims
