… Becomes University’s Faculty of Admin. Ambassador”
In recognition of his sterling qualities and outstanding contributions to the growth and development of education sector in the country, one of the foremost universities in Nigeria, the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, has bestowed a prestigious Award of Excellence on the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Amidu Raheem Tadese.
Tadese who was the former Osun Commissioner for Water Resources and Energy was honoured as the Faculty of Administration’s “Distinguished Ambassador” of the revered university.
According to the Faculty, Tadese eminently merited the prestigious Award of Excellence judging from his impeccable, outstanding track record and immense contributions to the cause of humanity, development of education and the society at large.
The institution honoured Tadese at her 1st Faculty of Administration Week, held in the University premises, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
The Dean of Faculty of Administration, Prof F. O. Fagbohun, acknowledged the tremendous impacts made by the awardee who he described as a refined educationist, seasoned technocrat, astute administrator and reputable politician of no equal means.
Prof. Fagbohun disclosed that the choice of Tadese for the award was a clear testament to dint of hardwork, dedication, resourcefulness and resoluteness. The University Don said the motive was part of efforts to continuously motivate and encourage the outstanding individuals.
Receiving the award, Dr. Tadese, who was represented by the NPC State Director, Mrs. Tinuola Adeboye, reassured his commitment to continuously impacting in humanity most especially the need to advance the education sector in the country and beyond.
“As an alumnus of this great citadel of knowledge, I want to assure you my avowed commitment to continuously advance the education system in the country. Also, I want to pledge that I would continue to be a good ambassador of this university and see this honour as a challenge to work harder. To me, the reward for hardwork is more work.
“While I continue to do everything possible to support the ongoing positive transformations in the Faculty of Administration and the University at large, I want to echo that we are extremely committed to collaborating with critical stakeholders to transform the institution into a world-class citadel of learning.
“I must profoundly express deepest heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of the Faculty of Administration and Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, for deeming it fit, and for counting me worthy of this rare honour and an outstanding award of excellence.
“To me, this award is seen as a challenge for further developmental contributions to the provision of quality education in general and upliftment of the Faculty and the University as a whole”, Tadese assured.
