The atmosphere was charged on Saturday at the Oduduwa Senior Secondary school as old students of the school under the aegis of Oduduwa Secondary School Old Students Association (ODUSSOSA) assembled thousands of old students and residents of the Ladipo, Mushin community that host the school for a free medical outreach.
The free medical checkup covers cervical screening, prostrate screening, diabetes test, blood pressure and eye test for the vulnerable in the society.
Leading the old students association and in partnership with the Rotary Club of Ikoyi, Global President of ODUSSOSA, Mr Omolaja Oyerinde said the association partnered the Rotary to ensure a more qualitative test and screening are carried out for the benefit of the people.
During the free medical mission, the association conducted cervical (breast) screening for 128 women with 2 referred for further medical attention as their cases were getting deteriorating; 62 were tested for prostrate with 3 cases requiring urgent medical attention; 125 tested for eye, of this, 65 cases were detected to have bad eye sites and were given drugs for correction of the detected faults while 24 others that required glasses were provided and asked to consult their doctors for further examination and treatment.
Other medical checks that was conducted for the residents were diabetes where about 213 benefited; blood pressure test, 212 tested and those with critical condition were given drugs as well as advised to seek further medical attention.
