A 22-year-old, Soliah Akinyemi, has made herself, her parents, and her friends proud as she graduated with a first-class honour from the Guidance and Psychology Counselling from the Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED).
For her, the journey was filled with bitter-sweet experience but she said with determination and resilience she rode through the thorns successfully to become a celebrated icon.
She said; “It’s a journey filled with rollercoaster rides but I scale through with determination, resilience, and a motivating factor.”
The motivating factor, she said is her determination to become a celebrated Muslimah in her prime and always put in her best effort to achieve her desired goal.
“Whatever I do I always try to put in my all and do my best,” she said.
Speaking on the feat, Soliah said it was a tough journey but against all, she made it to the top. She simply said; “Sincerely, It is not easy. As a Muslim, my Lord has said that ‘verily after hardship/difficulties is ease’. And this has been one of the things that have kept me going.
Describing how she feels making first class, Soliah said; “I feel happy, delighted, and optimistic that this is just the starting point because I am going to break barriers and stereotypes by God’s grace.”
The Guidance and Counselling First class graduate advised her fellow youths thus: “My utmost advice to the youth is that put in all your best, whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well. Make sure you know what you want and that you are ready to go for it. Have a motivating factor that will always keep you going even if all odds are stacked against you.”
Soliah said her next steps will be proceeding to obtain masters degree from same course as she said she looks up to study to the Ph.D level in the near future.
