… inspects ongoing projects at Shogunle
The Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has performed the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction work on Omilade street, Mafoluku Oshodi.
The council chairman performed the ground breaking ceremony on Wednesday, 15 May on the street, with call on the residents for cooperation to enable the contractor complete the project on time.
The ground breaking and flag off ceremony signaled the commencement of the reconstruction of the road and the drainage system.
Omilade street is one of the 114 roads intervention of the Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s initiative which is been carried out across the 57 local governments and local council development areas.
At the ground breaking ceremony which was attended along with his Vice, Hon. Mrs. Modupe Badmus-Aregbe, the SLG, Hon. Smart Akinleye, Chief of Staff, Hon. Leke Banjoko, and the management team headed by the council Manager, Mrs Iyabode Ogunyemi, the chairman notified the excited residents that the work will commence in earnest and would be completed in six months.
The council boss sought support and cooperation of the residents for smooth work urging them to move their vehicles and other materials that would obstruct effective work on the street.
He assured that the contractor will use quality materials and be timely in the completion of the massive project while disclosing that it won’t exceed the stipulated 6 months completion time.
He said; “I want to congratulate the residents of Omilade and to tell them that the project will commence in earnest. The project will take 6 months and I implore you to cooperate with the contractor to have a smooth running operation.”
The chairman’s train equally moved to inspect the ongoing projects at Shogunle axis. The projects include construction of drainage system and road at Olori street, distilling of canal at Saka and Opo-Osun streets.
The council chairman expressed satisfaction at the level of works being done while promising that it will be completed to time.
He assured the elated residents that trooped out to welcome him, that he will ensure the project is timely delivered.
Also in the entourage of the council chairman were the cabinet members, heads of department and Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).
The Vice Chairman in her brief speech at the epoch making event corroborated the chairman’s speech, promising the residents that the work will be completed on record time.
Hon Badmus-Aregbe while assuring the gathering of the competence and capability of the contractor, whom he described as a competent contractor, who has displayed professionalism in his previous jobs.
The Council Manager, Mrs Iyabo Ogunyemi in her own submission advised residents to cooperate with the contractor in order to ease their job, which will invariably lead to timely completion of the project.
