Oshodi-Isolo LG Chair Preaches Peace at United Muslims Association Election Sensitisation Programmme

… Urges Muslims to Vote APC

The executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo local government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has preached peace and tolerance among residents of the council.

Oloyede represented by the Secretary to the local government, Hon Smart Akinleye said it is only through peaceful coexistence that society finds development and progress.

The council boss spoke at an election sensitisation programme organised by the United Muslim Association of Nigeria, Oshodi on Saturday.

He stressed the need for all residents to get their permanent voters card to enable them to vote for candidates of their choice in the coming election.

The council boss however appealed to the Muslim community to cast their votes for the candidates of the All Progressives Congress in the general elections.

He commended the organisers for the initiative as he urged them to keep up the good work saying if other organisations emulate this laudable programme, the residents will be aware of their responsibilities and the need to take part in the elections.

He said; “let me first of all commend you for this laudable programme, it is indeed a worthy outing you have put together. I want to appeal to you all to mobilise and vote for our dear party in the coming elections”.

“Let’s continue to maintain the peaceful atmosphere we are enjoying within the local government, as we approach the election period I want us to continue to maintain peaceful coexistence during and after the elections, it is only through this that meaningful development and progress can come to our community,” he added.
