Yesterday, Hon. Idowu Adejumoke Senbanjo again uplifted the spirits of the young learners in Apapa Local Government as she distributed cartons of noodles to pupils of public primary schools within the local council.
The distribution which commenced at Ijora Oloye Primary School ended at Nanti Primary School covering all eight public primary schools in the Local government area.
The council mayor believes children are the future of our community and as such should be supported to succeed.
She said; “Our children are the future of our community and it’s our duty to ensure they have the support they need to thrive in life, hence my dedication to their plight, by extending this palliative support to our young learners coupled with all we have done for them is a way of investing in their well-being and academic success”.
“Today, every child in any of our eight public primary school gets a carton of noodles.” She added.
Accompanied by some top political figures and members of her cabinet, immediate past Lagos State APC chairman and member of GAC Hon. Tunde Balogun commended the various initiatives by the administration and the decision of the council boss to include primary school pupils in her palliative drive while appraising APC party for its determination to fix the country.
Also APC party chairman of the LG, Hon. Taiwo Adeleye in his goodwill message attested to the significant contribution of the Senbanjo’s administration and commended her for providing relief to vulnerable families and individuals within the community amongst other notable things she has done.
The chairman of Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) of Ijora Oloye Primary School appreciated the Port City Council mayor for her noble gesture and commended her for her vision for the children which is visible in all she has been doing for them. He stressed that Senbanjo has been a chairman to all irrespective of party affiliation.
Pupils from the eight public primary schools within the local government area were seen in high spirit, smiles beaming on their faces carrying cartons of noodles home.
The Senbanjo’s administration in past months had provided, uniforms, shoes, bags, books, math sets and other writing materials to public schools amid the construction and renovations of classroom blocks, water projects all to make learning easy.
