As the protest in some parts of the country enters day two, the executive chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede has commended youths within the council and Lagos State as a whole for maintaining peace and order.
Oloyede in a statement by his media office on Friday said the conduct and resolve of the youths to maintain peace and orderliness in the council shows that they are appreciative of the council effort in listening to them and bringing infrastructural development projects to the local government.
He said this conduct will continue to inspire him to do more for the residents as there is no development and progress in a chaotic environment.
The council chairman also thanked Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu for making sure the protest in the state does not lead to break down of law and order.
He urged the law enforcement agencies to continue to maintain law and order in all parts of the state.
The council helmsman said he has continually engage with the police force and other law enforcement agencies within the council as several meetings were held in order to sustain the peace.
He said; “I want to seize this moment to appreciate our youths for maintaining peace in Oshodi and also their resolve not to join the protest. This is commendable and we want to assure them that, we will never let them down as more dividends of democracy will be make available to residents.”
“I specially thank the state governor for his relentless effort to sustain peace across the state in the face of protest.”
“I appeal once again, to Nigerians to remain patient with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration as he his putting things in place in order to address the economic challenges currently facing the country.”
