Bearing last minute, the Lagos state Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu will inaugurate his cabinet members.
The inauguration date according to a memo released and made available to the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), on Saturday to notify them as well as prepare them to welcome the cabinet members assigned to oversee their works, the governor will on Wednesday inaugurate 37 commissioners with whom he will run the affairs of the state.
This comes despite the rejection of two of his resubmitted commissioner nominees name and one other undecided by the state’s House of Assembly.
Recall that the lawmakers have earlier rejected 17 of the nominees which were presented before them by the Governor for approval.
They however confirmed 37 Commissioner nominees and special Advisers nominees submitted for approval.
The two nominees dropped by the lawmakers were Olalere Odusote and Sam Egube, who served under the Sanwo-Olu administration’s first term as commissioners for Energy and mineral resources as well as Budget and Economic Planning.
However, the House resolved to step down the confirmation of Sule Akibu for another day.
Those to be sworn in are: a former Special Adviser on education and political matters and special adviser on environment and sanitation services, Olakunle Rotimi-Akodu; Dr. Afolabi Abiodun, Oluwaseun Osiyemi; Prof. Akin Abayomi; Dr. Oluwarotimi Wahab-Fashola; Kaosarat Ambrose-Medem; Akinyemi Ajigbotafe; Bolaji Dada; Barakat Akande-Bakare, and Olugbenga Omotosho.
Others are: Mosopefoluwa George; Dr. Nurudeen Agbaje; Dr. Olumide Oluyinka; Abayomi Oluyomi; Dr. Iyabode Oyeyemi Ayoola, and Sola Giwa.
Also to be sworn in are former Special Adviser on Educatrion, Tokunboh Wahab, and All Progressives Congress (APC) former youth leader, Idris Aregbe,
Others include: a former lawmaker representing Badagry, Layode Ibrahim; Mobolaji Ogunlende; Dr. Dolapo Fasawe; Bola Olumegbon; Abisola Olusanya; Moruf Akinderu-Fatai, and Kayode Bolaji-Roberts.
Still others are: Abiola Olowu; Toke Benson-Awoyinka; Dr. Oreoluwa Finnih-Awokoya; a former House of Representatives member, Adedayo Alebiosu; a former Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Lawal Pedro; a former Special Adviser on science and technology, Tunbosun Alake; Gbenga Oyerinde; Dr. Adekunle Olayinka; Dr. Jide Babatunde; Afolabi Ayantayo; Jamiu Alli-Balogun, and Abdulkabir Ogungbo.
