A two-time former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro has described a statement credited to him by some unscrupulous and mischievous persons on the social media, as lie from the pit of hell.
In a statement signed by his Special Assistant, Sulaimon Adebiyi, Obanikoro stated that there is no truth whatsoever in the statement in circulation which is targeted at the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The statement read; “there was no where, nor was there at any time and to no one did Senator Obanikoro say that ‘Tinubu has turned Lagos to his ATM’ as quoted by a Twitter user by the name – DGov. Besides the fact that the statement is very untrue, ill-conceived, mischievous and unsubstantiated, Senator Obanikoro, who has remained a staunch supporter and promoter of Asiwaju, could never have uttered such a guttered – comment’ the statement reads.
Interestingly, the page is renowned for despicable posts about the APC and promoting the opposition party (PDP).
While urging members of the public to disregard the blatant lie, Obanikoro admonishes Nigerians to come out en mass to vote for Asiwaju and all candidates of the APC, adding that the former Governor of Lagos State remains the best candidate to take Nigeria forward.
“The former Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana therefore gave the handler(s) of the Twitter account to publish a retraction of the attributed statement even as the Senator’s lawyers are currently reviewing the publication on the appropriate legal action to follow in the absence of a retraction and public apology,” he said.
