The President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has announced Monday 11 March as first of Ramadan and the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting.
This is contained in a statement by a member of the National Moon Sighting Committee (NMSC) Mallam Yahaya Muhammad Boyi.
The Sultan in a national broadcast has made a formal declaration on the commencement of the fasting.
