An 18-year-old apprentice has reportedly impregnated 10 girls in Anambra within five months.
Among those he impregnated are his master’s daughter and a salesgirl.
Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, revealed the incident while speaking in a live video on Wednesday.
The commissioner, who seemed perplexed in the video, sought advice from Nigerians, saying it was beyond her capacity.
“I want advice from the public because this one is beyond my capacity,” said Obinabo.
The teenager, whose identity remains unknown, was sent to learn a trade but impregnated the daughter of his boss and a salesgirl within three months of learning.
His master dismissed him after learning of this.
“This boy was sent to learn a trade at the age of 18, and within three months of apprenticeship, he impregnated his master’s daughter and his salesgirl. He was sent packing. Two months after that, he impregnated eight other girls in the village,” Obinabo said.
According to the commissioner, his mother, who reported the case to her, confided in her that her heart jumped whenever she saw a girl coming to their home.
Obinabo wondered how the 18-year-old had impregnated 10 girls within that period. She also questioned if it was spiritual.
“This matter is beyond me, that’s the reason I want the public to help me come up with a solution. Is it spiritual?” she questioned.
She further noted that the 18-year-old told her he loves the girls he impregnated and would love them to be his wives.
