The beauty of the Quran was presented in the public glare on Sunday as the Muslim Students Society of Nigeria Oshodi Central Branch held its 4th edition of Quran Memorisation Competition in grand style.
The competition which was keenly contested had 10 participants who melodiously read the quran with various voice to the admiration of all present.
Two of the participants joined online.
It was held at Nawairud-Ud-Deen Central Mosque, Oshodi, Lagos.
Amir (President) of the MSSN Oshodi central branch, Alhaji Luqman Edu said the Quran competition is meant to encourage readin of the qur’an among young adults and all persons , saying the Qur’an remains the primary source of Islamic religion.
He stated that the annual competition will be sustained even in the face of the financial challenges facing it, as he called on well meaning Nigerians to sponsor the competition for it to be sustained in the years ahead.
At the end of the competition, Abdul Majeed Olatunbosun came 1st, Dawud Abdullahi, 2nd and Abdulfatah Muhammad 3rd position in the 3 ajza category, while AbdulFattah Yusuf came 1st, Banjoko Khabab, 2nd Abdul Lateef Abdulhakeem 3rd in the 5 ajza category and Luqmon Abdulazeez, 1st, Yusuf Khalid 2nd and Sanni Firdaus 3rd position in the 10 ajza category.
Each of the winner was presented with handsome and adorable gifts for their effort.
