World Hijab Day: Photos as Muslim Women Preach against Discrimination, Reward Outstanding Women in Hijab

Muslim women under the aegis of Coalition of Muslim Organisations comprising 18 Muslim associations across Nigeria gathered at the Lagos Secretariat Central Mosque, Alausa, Ikeja Lagos to speak in one voice against continued persecution and discrimination of women in hijab.

The Muslimah (Muslim women) adorned themselves in their beautifully designed hijab with various colours match from the Allen Avenue Junction, Ikeja to the Lagos Secretariat Central Mosque in creating awareness on the inalienable rights of the Muslim woman to wear her hijab in where and everywhere irrespective.

At the secretariat mosque, Prof Khadijah Idowu, in her keynote address appreciated the women using the hijab and encouraged the younger generations to use the hijab as ordained by Allah and be morally upright in their daily endeavours.

The Coalition also as a way of encouraging women using the hijab and excel in their various professionals fields were presented certificates of appreciation. This, according to the organisers, is to serve as motivation for women who adorn the hijab, especially the young generations.
